Oasis waren ja immer schon der beste Beweis, daß man durch immerwährend schlechtes Benehmen seine Karriere trotz Wahnsinnstalent ordentlich ruinieren kann. Erst bei den letzten Brit Awards, wo Liam Callagher einen Preis für das beste Album der letzten 30 Jahre (für “What’s the story Morning Glory“) im Namen von Oasis entgegennahm, fiel dieser wieder einmal unangenehm auf und schmieß nach kurzer Dankesrede, die mehr aus “Peep” Tönen als sonst etwas bestand, den Preis einfach ins Publikum. Nachdem sein Bruder Noel letztes Jahr endgültig aufgegeben und die Band verlassen hat, tritt nun Liam mit dem verbleibenden Rest von Oasis unter neuem Namen auf: Beady Eye
Angeblich sind diese schon im Studio für Aufnahmen, man darf gespannt sein, wie die Songs sich anhören werden. Immerhin war es ein schon immer ein offenes Geheimnis, daß der Mastermind hinter Oasis der etwas ruhigere Noel war.
